During her apprenticeship to become a goldsmith, in Munich, D, Mi-Ah Rödiger acquired traditional and contemporary goldsmithing skills. Always being interested in making jewelryin a different context than the traditional, she continued her education and studied art and design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, NL, where she could explore different concepts of jewelry and acquire skills working with a range of different materials and techniques, which she likes to use in her creations. It is a fusion of influences from these practices that inspire the style of her work. Living in many different places throughout her life, she always found comfort in a sense of transcendental beauty which she wants to convey in her creations. The world often seems grey and meaningless to us because we have forgotten how to perceive the beauty and the wonders it holds. Our perception, influenced by everything we see and experience, determines our reality.
